Maintane 500 mg Injection contains Hydroxyprogesterone as its active ingredient which belongs to the category of medicines called Progestin hormones. It helps prevent premature labor in pregnant women to reduce the risk of giving birth too early (preterm birth). Also stops miscarriage and lowers the risk of premature birth in women who have had at least one premature delivery in the past.

Preterm delivery is a condition in which the baby is born too early that is before the completion of 37 weeks with early symptoms such as frequent sensation of womb contractions, constant backache, feeling of pressure in the abdomen, light bleeding, or change in vaginal discharge.
